The honest answer is that there isn't one simple price. A bespoke balustrade is made to suit the individual project, so the final cost depends on the system, materials, length, glass specification, fixing method, access and installation requirements.
However, we know that having some idea of budget before making an enquiry is helpful. So we've put together this guide using our typical starting prices.

Infinity glass balustrades
Our Infinity (frameless) glass balustrade systems start at around £500 + VAT per linear metre.
Infinity is a channel-based, frameless glass system, sometimes referred to as a track system. The glass sits within a continuous base, or side fix channel, creating a clean, contemporary appearance without conventional stainless steel posts interrupting the view.

Fully welded stainless steel balustrades
Our fully welded stainless steel and glass balustrades start at around £435 + VAT per linear metre.

Wire Balustrades

Wire balustrades use 316 marine-grade stainless steel posts with tensioned stainless steel wire infill. They provide an open, lightweight appearance while still creating a secure barrier.

Handrails are completely bespoke, so there isn't a standard price that applies to every project.

Why can't you provide a fixed meter rate?
This is an important point when comparing balustrade prices.
A per-metre figure is useful for budgeting, but it doesn't tell the whole story.
Two balustrades that are both 5 metres long can have very different prices.

The cost of manufacturing a bespoke balustrade also isn't simply the cost of the materials. It includes design, measuring, fabrication, finishing, preparation and installation.
That's why we use starting prices to give you an idea of budget, rather than pretending that every project can be accurately priced from a photograph and a measurement.
Do you have a fixed minimum order value?
No, we don't have a fixed minimum order value, however, that doesn't mean a very small job will cost the same as simply multiplying a metre rate.
For a small standalone job, there are still costs involved in travelling to site, carrying out a survey, discussing the requirements, producing the design, manufacturing the component and returning to install it.
For example, a single short handrail might only be a couple of metres long, but the work involved in completing the project doesn't reduce in proportion to its length.

What affects the cost of a Balustrade?
The main factors we consider when pricing a project include:
1. The Balustrade System
A simple stainless steel or wire system will generally cost less than a premium frameless glass system such as Infinity.
2. The Length
Longer runs can often offer better value per metre, while very short bespoke projects have a greater proportion of fixed costs.
3. Glass Specification
Different projects require different glass specifications. Clear, low-iron, frosted, satin and tinted options are available, and the required thickness and construction can affect the price.
4. The Design
Corners, curves, returns, changes in level and bespoke details all add fabrication time.
5. Fixing Method
The type of structure we're fixing to can make a significant difference. Side-mounted systems, unusual substrates and difficult fixing positions may require additional work.
6. Access and Installation
A straightforward ground-floor installation is very different from installing a balcony balustrade several metres above ground level or in a location with restricted access.
7. Finish and additional options
Satin or mirror-polished stainless steel, powder coating and specialist glass tints, or finishes and other bespoke options can all affect the final price.
Is a more expensive balustrade better than a cheaper option?
No not necessarily at all.
The best system is the one that's right for the building, location, use and budget.
For some projects, a stainless steel and glass system provides the ideal combination of strength and appearance. For others, our Infinity frameless system gives the cleanest possible view. A wire balustrade can provide a more economical and lightweight solution without compromising on durability.
